THE CHALLENGE Ceara is a federal state located in the north eastern region of the country sadly known and rated as one of the poorest and destitute area in all Latin America. WHERE WE WORK We are located in Barreiras, a small rural center about 90-100 km from Fortaleza. THE PROJECT Every chosen family will received a rain water tank. Each tank will be able to hold 16000 liters of rain water. According to experts, this should sustain and nourish an average family of four, for one entire year. The water is used only for drinking, cooking and bathing. The recipients of the rain water tanks are chosen according to two criteria: The size of the family, especially with small children. The only requirement to receive this service is that all school age children attend school regularly. Every year ETICA installs more than 25 new rain water tanks that to date has served more than 100 families. GALLERY
